My friendship with Nathan Latka, The College Entrepreneur, is not an ordinary friendship. Our very first in-person meeting, after months of interacting and networking on Facebook, was at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. We had never met each other before but we planned a full-day adventure to go on roller coasters, water rides and more. We ate a lot but, interestingly enough, neither of us had ANY chocolate! We had ice cream, French fries and hotdogs (Nathan’s Famous hotdogs, of course!). We sang karaoke and bought the videos of our incredibly awful performance. We acted out Danny and Sandy singing “Summer Nights” from Grease! Those videos will never be available to the public.
Nathan and I had a little bit of a wager going on during that day. He was convinced that I would get tired first and want to end the day. I KNEW that I would outlast him so I told him that his assumption was false. At one point, I MAY have yawned. Nathan asked me if I wanted to forfeit but I told him that I wasn’t tired; I was simply taking in the oxygen. I offered Nathan the same chance to forfeit when I caught him staring at an ice cream menu with his eyes closed. Nathan claimed that he was just deep in thought. So, the day continued and neither of us caved. We spent exactly 12 hours and 15 minutes running around the amusement park like eight year olds.
I mean it. We acted like eight year olds. There was a nine-year-old girl who was behind us on the line for a water-tubing ride. She chatted with me as she sought shelter from my body to avoid the gallons upon gallons upon gallons of water that Nathan was dumping on my head (and splashing on everyone else). The little girl was quite the conversationalist. She was also quite the manipulator. As Nathan and I got closer to getting our tubes, this nine-year-old gingerly tiptoed in front of us. I was prepared to let it slide. She was nine and having the time of her life. Then Nathan put his arm out and said, “We were here first.” Nathan was 100% correct but this child was…a CHILD! I suddenly became a child too, looked at the girl, shrugged, grabbed my tube, started laughing and hopped on the water slide with Nathan! Oh, I still feel the guilt.
This 12-hour day that Nathan and I shared was the start of a friendship and the end of slight tension. You see, Nathan and I were not always buddies. Our networks crossed on Facebook and as we got to know each other in
the professional “virtual world”, our opinions clashed on occasion. One night, we called each other out on a few things over a Skype call. We talked our issues out and developed a really nice working relationship after that. I’m not sure how the working relationship turned into bathing suits and water rides but it was a blast!
For those of you who don’t know Nathan in a professional capacity, he is the founder of The Fan Page Factory, “the leading resource in fan page technology, tricks, tips, and tactics.” He does remarkable work on custom tabs for Facebook fan pages and he also offers training. His goal in training is to help his community learn how to do their own coding and make their own pages. Back in the day (a whole year and a half ago), Nathan designed a fan page banner for me and he is currently creating a new masterpiece for another one of my pages. I look forward to revealing it any day now!
Nathan is about to unveil a revolutionary tool on Saturday, called Lujure Assembly Line. According to Nathan, you can use Lujure to “create custom Facebook Fan Page Tabs quickly using our intuitive drag and drop technology! Forget about that messy code. Just design that page you’ve always wanted and click install!” It sounds easy, cutting-edge, unique and professional.
The other night, Nathan gave me a sneak peek of the Lujure technology. It is all of the things that I mentioned above and more. Nathan gave me the preview on Skype video. He still believes that I am one of his toughest critics so he wanted to see my face as I watched his presentation to gauge my reaction. My jaw dropped. Lujure Assembly Line is a no-brainer. Do you want to know my favorite piece about it? No coding is involved! This means that people who are not familiar with Facebook code can use this product with ease. The tool is customizable so that you can develop a tailored fan page in a matter of moments. Powerful. This is useful for anyone who is participating in personal or business branding via Facebook.
You, too, have the chance to see Nathan’s presentation. He will be holding a webinar this weekend to show each and every one of you exactly how Lujure works. The details are below and you are cordially invited. I hope your jaw will drop, too!
